That's the philosophy that has guided my work for more than 25 years. Before we talk about layouts, cabinetry, or finishes, I take the time to understand how you want your home to support your life. From there, every recommendation is shaped by that understanding, helping you make confident decisions and create a home that feels beautiful, functional, and unmistakably yours.
I knew I wanted to be an interior designer from a very young age.

As a child, I was constantly redesigning my bedroom, rearranging furniture, and sewing bedsheets into window coverings. Looking back, it was a make-shift version of what I do today.
When I was twelve, my uncle, a graphic designer, said something that changed everything:
"Interior designers can move walls."
I looked at the wall behind him and asked,
"You mean I can push that out a couple of feet?"
From that moment on, I knew exactly what I wanted to do.

After graduating from the University of Manitoba in 1999, I began my career designing hospitality, multi-family, and residential projects before founding Onida Garner Design in 2014.
Today, I help homeowners navigate complex renovations with a clear process and thoughtful guidance, so every decision supports the way they want to live.

I work closely with builders, architects, and trades to guide projects from concept through construction, ensuring every detail is carried through as intended. My work spans renovations and new homes, with expertise in space planning, custom millwork, lighting, materials, furnishings, and project management.
What I enjoy most isn't choosing finishes or drawing plans. It's helping clients move from feeling overwhelmed to feeling confident about every decision they make.
Design doesn't end with interiors.
My love of design extends beyond interiors into my work as a ceramic artist, where I create one-of-a-kind porcelain pieces from my North Vancouver studio.
Creating by hand keeps me closely connected to craftsmanship, materiality, and the small details that give a home character. Whether I'm designing a renovation or shaping a porcelain vessel, my goal is the same: to create something thoughtful, personal, and made to last.
In 2026, I was honoured to be named a finalist in the Western Living Designers of the Year Awards in the Maker / One-of-a-Kind category for my ceramic work.
