I'm Onida Garner, interior designer & ceramicist in North Vancouver.

I design homes with purpose, personality, and a deep sense of who you are. Thoughtful and beautifully styled, each space reflects how you live and what matters most to you. With a strong focus on function and flow, I blend character with practicality—ensuring every detail is both intentional and effortless. I believe the best design outcomes are built on collaboration, trust, and a shared vision. By working closely with you, I bring your ideas to life in a way that feels natural, elevated, and truly personal.

With 25 years of experience designing residential spaces, including a decade leading Onida Garner Design, I bring a wealth of knowledge to every project. Holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design from the University of Manitoba, along with extensive experience in both design and construction, I ensure your project benefits from innovative solutions, exceptional client care, and seamless execution.

In my ceramic art, I enjoy creating fluid, organic forms in wall sculptures and in decorative bowls, platters, and vases, drawing inspiration from the movement of waves, the curves of shells, the bloom of flowers, and the flow of fabrics. Working with porcelain, a material that is both demanding and sensitive, each piece is a unique expression made by me, using both wheel throwing and altering techniques. Each piece is then finished with glazes I’ve developed through experimentation or left unglazed to highlight the natural beauty and translucence of porcelain. It is a slow process in which natural production times are respected: designing, shaping, the drying process, firing, glazing ... it may take several weeks or several months of work from start to finish. 

Small imperfections are part of the beauty of handmade ceramics. No two pieces are exactly the same, and that in turn makes them unique and special.
