Handmade Ceramics | North Vancouver | Onida Garner Ceramics

In my ceramic art, I enjoy creating fluid, organic forms in wall sculptures and in decorative bowls, platters, and vases, drawing inspiration from the movement of waves, the curves of shells, the bloom of flowers, and the flow of fabrics. Working with porcelain, a material that is both demanding and sensitive, each piece is a unique expression made by hand using both wheel throwing and altering techniques, then finished with glazes developed through experimentation or left unglazed to highlight the natural beauty and translucence of porcelain.

It is a slow process in which natural production times are respected. From designing and shaping through drying, firing, and glazing, a piece may take several weeks or several months from start to finish.

Small imperfections are part of the beauty of handmade ceramics. No two pieces are exactly the same. That is what makes them truly special.

Custom Installations

Alongside individual pieces, I create large-scale ceramic wall sculpture installations for private homes and commercial spaces. 'Between Stillness and Flow' (2025) is a 42-piece porcelain wall installation at Hello Nori, Park Royal, West Vancouver.

I have also completed two 200-piece wall sculpture installations in private West Vancouver homes, and two custom ceramic pieces integrated directly into client interiors.
